The Bar & Sole Rasp-2-F Narrow has a half-round form with knife blade style teeth, made of high carbon steel. It can be used in one or two hand grips to remove excess horn over the bars and sole of the hoof. These knife teeth shave horn to leave a very smooth surface. The SR-2-F is 7/8" wide and best for use in small hands and on smaller hooves. It is the easiest to use of the three Bar & Sole Rasps. These teeth can be repeatedly re-sharpened using our special Honing Pad. There are three different arcs for use on different shapes of sole. All Bar & Sole Rasps have a hoof pick point for cleaning dirt and grit from the the frog, the bars, and the white line. This tool is an easier to control alternative to using a hoof knife on sole and bar horn that places less stress on your wrists. There is no risk of gouging the sole--or yourself--when using a Bar & Sole Rasp. The use life of these rasps is similar to that of a high quality hoof knife.
